Owen Wilson

Owen Wilson is a film actor who is known for starring in quirky films. He has a subtle humor that has seemed to only improve over the years. He's good at what he does, and he enjoys doing it too.

In the Beginning

Owen Wilson was born on November 18, 1968 in Dallas, Texas. He's the son of a advertising executive and a photographer. Early on he was a bit of a comedian. He even grew up beside two other actors as well. He was expelled from St. Mark's School of Texas. Owen did graduate from Thomas Jefferson School before he went on to attend New Mexico Military Institute. He enrolled in the University of Texas Austin. While attending he met the future filmmaker Wes Anderson. Together, the two made a feature film together in 1996 called Bottle Rocket. The film was originally created to show at the Sundance Film Festival.

Most Known For

Owen is known for some of his more recent work. He played a high acclaimed role in the 2009 film The Fantastic Mr. Fox. Along with Free Birds in 2013, Midnight in Paris in 2011, and Inherent Vice in 2014. Owen even tried doing an action thriller in 2015 called No Escape.

Where Are They Now

Owen has been able to make a comeback of sorts. He has starred in a few films in recent years. Cars and Cars 2. Even Marmaduke in 2010 and Free Birds in 2013. The most recent film he starred in was the film No Escape that came out in 2015. It's not known yet what other films Owen Wilson may be starring in the future. However, with the most recent release. It could mean he's decided to try his hand and other film genres rather than the quirky films and comedies he's so well known for. If so, it could produce some interesting results. Owen Wilson may have not won any awards as an actor. The films he's starred on are either well known, or they were buried after a few years. Even though he has had a setback due to some personal issues. He's continued to pursue his career as an actor. He's hardly at the end of his career. If anything, perhaps with No Escape he can define a new era in his life. He may be able to show he is talented enough to take on more serious roles as well. Only time will tell if he is able to pull this off.    

Career Accomplishments

Own and Wes went on to make several more films together. These include The Royal Tenebaums, Rushmore, and The Life Aquatic. He's even participated in a few classic films as well such as Cars and Cars 2. Other comedic films he's starred in are Meet the Parents in 2000, Zoolander in 2001, Starsky & Hutch in 2004, and even the box office hit in 2005 Wedding Crashers.
